she is here, she is there, she is everywhere with her platform boots and multicoloured hair and vintage velvet mini-dresses. she's on vice and she's on every dirty hipster's tumblr and that's when you know she's either got it very, very wrong or very, very right. because then again, who am i to judge (with my dirty hipster tumblr account and pile of vice magazines i always cuss, but never give up collecting)! so, yes, eriko nakao - tokyo's muse for god knows how long - i personally remember her from way back in 2008 when narziß was still alive and gallermic and all of the other tokyo club kids were still as underground as those dirty little clubs were. or, honestly, i don't know, as i know neither of those people personally.. but that is how i like to imagine things were back then, when christ walked the earth (or dinosaurs, so everyone can be happy!). now things are obviously different and you can find anyone and everyone on tumblr, or on facebook or even in those big fashion blogs that like to explore the ~exotic and crazy underground culture. then again, as i already said: who am i to judge anyone!

eriko nakao, that woman with the little girl's body, the sad eyes and the exquisite wardrobe fit for her nihilistic attitude. or again, that's the way i like to imagine things! i wouldn't call her an inspiration, as i, in all honesty, don't even know what inspires me anymore.. intriguing is what i'd use; and that's exactly what she is. someone you'd wish you were, but wouldn't really want to be; someone who is best kept at a distance, because that way you can imagine so many things about them in your mind. she's the trashy club kid with the american influence; the sophisticated woman that goes to the pre-raphaelite art exhibition at the museum; the one that looks best in a japanese kimono with her hair pulled back.. all those personas, all those stories. and that's what's so appealing about her, i guess. then again, it's different for everyone; it's up to you to decide!

because oh god, yes, yes you are woman.

inspired by this and that for this and that. you know, nothing really productive- just hair, faces, life, etc. and not really completely unrelated, i remember an interviewer told shiina ringo (from an interview from ringo file 1998-2008) that she reminded him of björk. she didn't seem so thrilled about that- you know, laughing and thanking him awkwardly. but he kind of explained that he didn't mean it in the sense of her being "a weird kind of girl", more like that both their presences enchanted people. and you know, yeah, it's sick- this whole "the (country) björk" but i like both their presences. and maybe they really are alike, even in the cliche meaning of the word.

the things that inspire (or because that's too pretentious- make me smile) lately

milla jovovich in the fifth element. and the movie itself, it's just so cute and late '90s-like, plus it has some really rad jpg costumes. the see through neon skirt with the thong and the shaved hair was so deliciously late '90s it hurt!

i saw party monster a few days ago and you know, it sometimes irritates me- that hipster pretentiousness- but i liked it. i can enjoy the trashiness, if only for the irony of it all. i know tons of people who love chloe sevigny and feel inspired by her and honestly, i'm not one of them but again, i can enjoy her sometimes. her and mccaulay kulkin, they're this typical trashy american phenomenon and if you're not all over it all the time, it has its charm.

and mccaulay turned 30 a few days ago, can you believe it? it's so surreal.

oh i also found um úrnat frá björk- björk's handprinted booklet from 1984- which i really like, it looks so much like children's drawings (you can view the full thing here)

went to the seaside, got disgustingly dark, wore a brown/dark green-ish dress. if all goes according to plan, i'll soon have mutated into a piece of poop. and now there's lazy days, nostalgic smells, searching for jobs, reading horror stories, etc. i did get my new (and someone's old) bern dress in the mail a few days ago, though:

i sadly lack the equipment to shoot it in its full glory so you only get a half-arsed picture of my lower body ("to prove i actually own it", so to speak) and three shots from the site i got it from. i find writing reviews of clothes pretty stupid but it's a dope dress- the different colours and patterns, as well as the different materials are mixed in that perfect way only mr.willhelm can. you can't deny it, he does colour like no one else!

lynn yaeger makes me miss my red hair. i can just wish i will one day be as rad (and as red) as her..

sometimes i love "korean" fashion- it just gives off this alluring relaxed vibe and frankly, i think the people are not trying as hard as japanese people to look cool (which is not a bad thing; nor is it a good thing- just different, actually). i know it's lame to compare "korean" and "japanese" fashion based only on both of those being asian- imagine someone comparing fashion in london and fashion in paris; it would be just stupid- but humor me.

speaking of things relaxed, cool and effortless, liger's hilary has been killing it with her outfits. she's rich, she's famous and she obviously has a huge wardrobe but i love the fact that she actually bothers to wear her clothes out more than once- that way it feels like actual outfits, rather than just dressing up.

and more relaxedness- mmm aw00:
