inspired by this and that for this and that. you know, nothing really productive- just hair, faces, life, etc. and not really completely unrelated, i remember an interviewer told shiina ringo (from an interview from ringo file 1998-2008) that she reminded him of björk. she didn't seem so thrilled about that- you know, laughing and thanking him awkwardly. but he kind of explained that he didn't mean it in the sense of her being "a weird kind of girl", more like that both their presences enchanted people. and you know, yeah, it's sick- this whole "the (country) björk" but i like both their presences. and maybe they really are alike, even in the cliche meaning of the word.

there was a great feature on hair&make-up artists in the new so-en (which i'm yet to finish reading but still) which reminded me how much i love katsuya kamo's and julien d'ys' works. i should really expand my horizons when it comes to knowledge of hair&make-up artists, excluding these two gentlemen and pat mcgrath but for now i'll just leave you with some kamo pieces.

i also stumbled upon these pictures of a magazine curated by jun takahashi, i believe, in jun takahashi's pop blog:

lately i've been "craving" art in all forms possible- cheap art books, museum exhibitions of even the most obscure and unknown artists, etc. i've been really liking sam windett's art- i'm not one that's too much into complex art and, as disgusting as it may sound, i actually like modern(-istic) art with all those weird shapes, shapeless things one can't identify and/or pretty colours. true, though- sam windett's art is not the best example of "pretty colours" but still, it gives off some really nice vibes.

i found out about karishma shahani, a graduate of london college of fashion of indian descent, and her collection "yatra" ("pilgrimage" in hindi) just blows my mind. it's such an explosion of colour, of materials. not many designers' work makes me do this but her clothes make me actually think of some distant lands, of voyages beyond my imagination, of heroes and beggars, and magicians, and gods. in a way, it's almost tangible and whoah did i wax lyrical about it. but honestly, it's just breathtaking.

isn't the red bag with the trinkets just glorious? but honestly, isn't it all!

more of my hair hair hair obsession. i've been sort of obsessed with hair lately, for god knows what reasons. i'm almost known for rocking my hair au naturel, meaning- combing it only white i shower and looking sort of like jesus, because i never even trim it. of course, it's as au naturel as hair that's been dyed a few times can get but that's a whole other story.
i've been wondering. since i don't really fancy any hairstyles- aside from the side cut which i'm not really sure i can rock properly- but jesus hair can get sort of boring sometimes, i'm thinking about maybe dip dying my hair. pink, violet, green or maybe even simple black. i know it's been a big hit around the blogosphere which makes it sort of old and i know i might sound lame saying things such as "but i liked it before that" but.. i did really like it before it became such a hit. i remember wanting to do it for the summer last year but never really going for it. should i now? i still can't decide on the colour, though, and that's pretty annoying.
