BACK by ann-sofie back

after a few middle fingers raised and a few tantrums thrown, i can happily say that the new hardware is in (ah, the irony of the sheet - that is actually some complete useless to me, the sofiaite, brochure about culture in portland, oregon between december last year and this month - i used as a background, tee-hee.. ). this back by ann-sofie back ring was purchased at stand up comedy, which is a site i'd recommend you, especially for their amazing maga/zines and book. but that's a topic for another time!
i've been a huge fan of the sheefun for ann-sofie back earring-themed/adorned/god knows? jewelry for a long time now, but never really figured out how and where to get them. so when i saw the new versions - these ones are made of acrylic, instead of from gold(-plated metal?) - i knew i had to pounce the opportunity like a madwoman! and, all in all, this brings me here.

it also should be noted, i really love piecrings, especially when done in a subtle and classy way, while still being imaginative and serving their usual purpouse - rebellion! sort of like it would be if one had a surface piercing on his middle finger (side note: would make my flipping off way more effective!). on the other hand, i also enjoy over the top, old school piercings - faces full of 'em, with a few tattoos to go with it. sort of like shiba from snakes and earrings (which, ironically, is a visually pleasing film with a nice plot, while the book actually left me with a bad taste in the mouth and not in a good way; also - there's just as much details you can describe while writing about sex!) which, while being one creepy fuck, i must admit - is exactly what you'd expect to see on an underground fashion blog, listed under "characters that inspire me" and being, well, not a character that literally inspires anyone in any way. but all in all, a cool fuck, pardonnez mon français!

the festive season is upon us and i, though not a big fan of such events, have finally caught on the fancy dress trend (oh, "trend", such a lovely and loathed by me word.. ). though, as i obviously am no fan of sparkly dresses and bedazzled high heels, i'd rather kick back in this ensamble i almost have, but not really. ironic as it is, i'm yet to own a nice leather jacket (blame me and my pickiness!).. and, well, those amazing unif spiked flats, named after one of my favourite cinema villains - hellraiser. (also, as you might figure out, my pearl necklace is far from being mikimoto.. but i do own - or am about to own that amazing cdg dress - my latest purchase!)

hadn't updated this lovely thing here in 6 months or so- blame tumblr for it for it will one day be the death of indie fashion/art blogging. obviously, professional bloggers, however you define one, don't need such a platform, but honestly- it makes posting editorials, art, videos and whatever else takes your fancy so, so much easier. it also makes actual discussion and critique of said editorials, art and videos so, so much lazier.. but i digress! whether i'll be back for good is unknown, but i decided to leave you with pictorial evidence of the things i've been up to or have fancied those last few months..

1. jil sander blazer, cdg tulle cardigan from the '90s, mmm brooch and its box, now containing a bejewelled one, and i-d the hedonist issue with a goddess on the cover; 2. topshop tights bought on an insane sale and zara loafers/moccasins; 3. cdg aw09 jacket and awkward angles; 4. earth hour with acqua di parma and hand-made honey-scented candles

and a lot and a lot of gregg araki films

remember how intense the aw06 junya spiked shoes/boots were? of course you do- you either have them or wish you did, there's no third option. along with the margiela tabi, they're some of my favourite "iconic", so to speak, shoes. unlike the margielas that get re-released (almost?) every season and are pretty easy to obtain, at least in some of their many reincarnations (i'm of course not talking about models from the '80s or '90s but i'm no collectioner so i would be happy to just own some plain black ones one day), these boots were released once, got probably sold out so i didn't get my hopes high for ever getting a pair. so you can imagine i pounced them like a madwoman when i saw them up on yahoo japan auctions- can't say i walked away with the deal of my life (reason for being broke as mentioned in my previous post) but i'm pretty happy with my purchase. heck, i'm more than happy- to finally "own" (yet to arrive, obviously) an item you've been wanting for years is a pretty phenomenal feeling. i do feel shallow and material but what fashion blogger doesn't? all in all, i can't believe i wrote so much when i could just say OMG I FINALLY BOUGHT THE SHOES OF MY DREAMS BUT AM DIRT POOR NOW BUT DON'T CARE YAY RUN-ON SENTENCES!

moving along! i've been watching some old-ish crap lately, like freaks and geeks, and yesterday i watched slc punk. i swear to god this has nothing to do with the fact that both have young jason segel who was such a dreamboat in them (does anyone still use that? saw him referred to as that on tumblr and got a kick out of it because i hadn't seen the word used since i was in middle school or something). note to self: get a boyfriend! .. no, i mean it!

looking at this post makes me feel as if i'm looking at tavi's blog which is not a bad thing, only i'm almost 20 years old.

i've been shopping a lot lately and i currently have something along the lines of 2lv. ($1.25?) in my wallet and i can't even spend them since one is my "lucky" coin but i don't remember which one and don't want to risk spending it and yay for run-on sentences. i bought a new old (2004 i think?) bern bag and this lovely fw05 comme shirt:

after buying it i saw the perfect tricot comme cardigan for like, nothing but was too poor to get it, too. i'll keep my fingers crossed people don't snatch it from under my nose, because it's really, really great. mixed patterns and mixed materials!
i really want a pair of creepers and am thinking about investing in one or two (black and leopard, maybe?) if i do get my ass to london around christmas. first eri's great outfits paired with creepers, now i'm obsessing over how awesome wends from panache's look.

i hit my leg pretty bad when chasing my cat so please, please, pretty please, pretty red and blue bruise, appear! and i really want to pair creepers with a nice pink chiffon or silk dress.

i found out about confettisystem a while ago but never bothered actually "investigating" them. they are a new york brand, i think? i decided to visit the site today and honestly, it's like an orgasmic explosion of pastel colours and metallics! it was seriously making love to my eyes. but enough with the gross metaphors- they have some really great home decor (about which someone said, and pretty fittingly, "it's like having a tanabata decoration out all year long") and some beautiful jewelry i just might invest some money in in the future.

a few days ago i indulged myself and bought something i don't even need. i should probably stop buying/eyeing bern things but it cost about ten bucks and since even his socks cost more, i couldn't possibly say "no". it's going to be my second item with a print like this and i really need to find a different bag to wear with it because as awesome and gross as the idea sounds, i don't think i'm brave enough to wear them together.

went to the seaside, got disgustingly dark, wore a brown/dark green-ish dress. if all goes according to plan, i'll soon have mutated into a piece of poop. and now there's lazy days, nostalgic smells, searching for jobs, reading horror stories, etc. i did get my new (and someone's old) bern dress in the mail a few days ago, though:

i sadly lack the equipment to shoot it in its full glory so you only get a half-arsed picture of my lower body ("to prove i actually own it", so to speak) and three shots from the site i got it from. i find writing reviews of clothes pretty stupid but it's a dope dress- the different colours and patterns, as well as the different materials are mixed in that perfect way only mr.willhelm can. you can't deny it, he does colour like no one else!

lynn yaeger makes me miss my red hair. i can just wish i will one day be as rad (and as red) as her..
