a lot - and by a lot, i mean a lot - of people are, i'm guessing being too busy either being ecstatic over what tomorrow is or too busy dissing the day and making fun of it. now, i'm no romantic person, nor do i really like what valentine's day stands for nowadays - i do like the legend, though - but i decided to what-the-heck it all and do a little post. a post about things that inspire me or, to put it less pretentiously - that i really, really enjoy. all presented in a this is a sappy teenage girl's blog manner, of course - for the sake of the celebration!

the usual, full of sugar and spice and everything nice and dresses that look like little girls' nightgowns, crimson hearts and vampire slayers, skull cut-outs on bonbon boxes and velvet roses, dreamlike little fantasies..

little known fact - i'm a buffy the vampire slayer fanatic! so it was only natural - though i ain't particularly a fan of the buffy and angel relationship - for me to put this little thing in the post as well - the claddagh ring (otherwise known as the ring angel gave to buffy to symbolize their eternal love, but, let's face it - spike is so much better for her!). for those of you who don't know, a little lession in history/traditions: it's a ring from irish origin, usually given as a symbol of either friendship, love of a desire for marriage. now, as things would be pretty complicated if one right symbolized all of those things at the same time, them irish folk thought of a lovely system to distinguish its meanings according to the way it's worn; and with the special help of wikipedia:

1. When worn on the right ring finger with the heart pointing to the fingertip, the wearer is free of any attachment.
2. On the same finger but the other way round, with the heart pointing away from the fingertip, it suggests someone is romantically involved.
3. When the ring is on the left hand wedding ring finger, it means the person is married or engaged.

and lastly, some lovely '70s films, namely - jaromil jireš's valerie's week of wonders and peter weir's picnic at hanging rock. i believe it's safe to assume i really enjoy those '70s aesthetics, but also - as suggested by the "dresses that look like little girls' nightgowns" up there - this type of lolitaesque, but not really lolita kind of character, outlook. white dresses, natural hair, love letters, beautiful cakes and all with a pinch of morbidity..

visited places, left places, fell in love with them, missed people, missing people, fell in love, slept under the sun, slept under the stars, was reckless, didn't behave my age, another summer gone..

lazy summer days, filled with doing nothing and just enjoying the simple things. i won't bore you with complex and elaborate posts, nor will i do so for myself. lately i've been enjoying crystal ear cuffs

and lovely blue eyes.

hadn't updated this lovely thing here in 6 months or so- blame tumblr for it for it will one day be the death of indie fashion/art blogging. obviously, professional bloggers, however you define one, don't need such a platform, but honestly- it makes posting editorials, art, videos and whatever else takes your fancy so, so much easier. it also makes actual discussion and critique of said editorials, art and videos so, so much lazier.. but i digress! whether i'll be back for good is unknown, but i decided to leave you with pictorial evidence of the things i've been up to or have fancied those last few months..







1. jil sander blazer, cdg tulle cardigan from the '90s, mmm brooch and its box, now containing a bejewelled one, and i-d the hedonist issue with a goddess on the cover; 2. topshop tights bought on an insane sale and zara loafers/moccasins; 3. cdg aw09 jacket and awkward angles; 4. earth hour with acqua di parma and hand-made honey-scented candles

and a lot and a lot of gregg araki films

i recently stumbled upon a sort of archive site with ellen von unwerth works. i can't say i am a fan but i really like her older pictures of milla jovovich (circa late nineties), especially the the face editorial called "how to get ahead in hollywood". it makes me reconsider so, so many things like red lipstick with blue eyeshadow and dress shirts (so sue me, i'm not a fan). i just love it and milla is gorgeous as usual!

















speaking of blue eyeshadow- well, blue eyeshadow! i really like how deep shades of lighter blues (royal blue, turkish blue) look on the eyes right now. did i mention i'm going through a "i need colour" phase?



and i also really like/d these nineties comme see-through trousers that i'm not sure if i won or didn't win (using a shopping service, don't know the screen name of the person behind it). i really hope i did win, they're so rad! oh, i did win a see-through black skirt, though- yes, i'm going through a "i like see-through bottoms" phase, too! eta: i did win the trousers! i think this will be my first pre-2000 comme item ever (my oldest one is a aw00 top/sleeved scarf).
